Our office is pet friendly, so when my work load allows I love to bring in my dog/bestie, Carlos. This is us headed to the office. Everyone at work gets so excited to see him and he always makes office days more fun.
Stopped for coffee at one of my favorite coffee shops in East Dallas: Window Seat. Beyond the delicious coffee, the interior is stunning with soft aviation-inspired curves and cute nods to air travel motifs…
… my favorite is the artwork at the banquettes that are all painted “window” views. So thoughtful!
This is me. Wanted to show that we mask-up in the office in addition to temperature checks and social distancing as much as possible. Our teams also split what days we’re in the office to limit contact and allow for further distancing.
Have to get Carlos set up with his pillow and toys. This keeps him occupied while I get to work.

Turns out, Window Seat just started providing my FAVORITE tacos from Taco Deli, so I of course indulged. This was a pleasant surprise and a great way to start my Friday.
My desk looked like an actual bomb had gone off. I hardly ever let it get THIS messy, but I’ve been hoarding materials for project scheming. Don’t worry… I did clean it by end of day.
I have a big tip for anyone just getting back into the office, or if you will be soon; Especially with the summer heat coming, I can’t recommend enough to get a small desk fan. Had some finished sample reviews to catch up on which really highlighted the importance of quality control haha. The stain we selected is on the left, and the manufacturer’s finish is on the right… Revise and Resubmit, please!
Our team had a fun outing to the Shaw showroom for lunch. Our rep showed us around their new space and caught us up on the latest product offering. I need to find a home for this rug in one of our projects, I’m in love! The Shaw showroom goes beyond just featuring the product and has a ton of inspo pinned up on the walls.
Came back to the office for a project call and some internal team meetings in the afternoon. It was such a beautiful day outside, which does make it a bit difficult to stay focused on the screen
This is a scheme I’ve been working on for a hotel project in Nashville. You’ve gotta do what you gotta do to get the right shot for the materials and sometimes that means laying them on the floor in order to get the best lighting and to capture the vintage rug colors.
Ok see, I DID clean up my desk before I left for the weekend. Let’s just hope it stays this way for a bit…
I went out for happy hour drinks with a few coworkers to Henry’s Majestic. They have a great outdoor patio space, so we were finally able to enjoy the Spring weather.
